Hello, and thank you for visiting my page! Here, you can find information about my training, the services I offer, and contact information. If you are experiencing an emergency, or need support right away, please call 911, 1-800-273-TALK, or access an online support chat here.
I am a licensed psychologist, educator, and clinical supervisor, and am the owner and CEO of The Gracious Mind, a robust mental health organization service people all over the US. To learn more about our work at TGM, please visit our website.
My work over the last twenty years has encompassed a variety of disciplines, beginning with earning my first ASL interpreter certification in 1997. Since that time, I have worked as a teacher, interpreter, professor, psychologist, and social-justice educator and consultant, and have continually been inspired by the depth, power, and resiliency that accompany the human experience. It has been my honor to share space with people during the most difficult times in their lives, and to walk alongside them as they move toward healing.
My credentials include:
- Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling Psychology
- Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology
- Master of Science in Education of the Deaf
- American Sign Language: National Interpreter Certification
- Texas Educator Certification K-12

I completed my doctoral work at Texas Woman’s University, where I was trained to provide culturally competent, identity-affirming, and justice-oriented psychological services. My clinical training sites have included collegiate and forensic settings, and my doctoral internship was at Jackson Behavioral Health Hospital’s Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing clinic in Miami, Florida. During my time there, I received specialized training in the assessment and treatment of psychological issues for the Deaf, including academic and cognitive assessment, capacity evaluations, medical consultation, and therapy.
I also have extensive experience working with LGBQ and Transgender communities, and can provide support and guidance for individuals and families who are exploring gender identity and sexual orientation. I work closely with medical systems and other service providers to help reduce and remove barriers to healthcare for gender non-conforming individuals, and am available to consult with schools, businesses, and other organizations hoping to improve access to services for the LGBTQ community.
